Railroad spikes are one of the most iconic tools in folk magic, conjure, and witchcraft—valued for their connection to iron, protection, endurance, and the raw strength of the land.

Traditionally used in Hoodoo and Appalachian folk practice, railroad spikes are worked with for warding, protection, binding, and setting strong spiritual boundaries. Their association with railroads—roads, travel, movement, and destiny—also makes them powerful for road opening and anchoring spells into the physical world.

These spikes were collected by hand from along the railroad tracks near my Appalachian home, where they had been worked loose and discarded to the side. Each one has been cleaned and spiritually prepared so it arrives ready for your altar, spellwork, or protective placement.
