    Ninefold Wash Spell Candle

A Fire for What Must Be Washed Away

There are things that do not leave when asked.

They settle in layers—quiet, persistent, half-forgotten but still present. Not everything can be cut cleanly. Some things must be loosened, thinned, and carried away over time. Ninefold Wash is not a flame of force. It is a flame of process.

It burns steady while what no longer belongs begins to shift.

    The Work Within the Flame

This candle is a slow clearing and release working.

It does not rip or sever. Instead, it softens what has taken hold and creates the conditions for it to leave on its own.

Where the oil moves through the body and immediate field, this flame works outward—through space, atmosphere, and the edges of a situation.

    It is especially suited to:

    • lingering emotional residue

    • environments that feel heavy or unsettled

    • situations that have ended but have not fully released

Work With Ninefold Wash When You Need To

    • clear what has built up over time rather than all at once

    • move through the aftermath of conflict, stress, or disruption

    • lighten a space without destabilizing it

    • support ongoing cleansing or uncrossing work

    • create a true reset, not just a surface clearing

    Practical Uses

Burn this candle in spaces that have held tension—after arguments, during transitions, or when something has shifted but the atmosphere remains unchanged. It works well alongside physical acts of cleaning, bathing, or reordering a space, reinforcing the process rather than replacing it.

It is best used over multiple sessions, allowing the work to unfold gradually. This is not a single-burn solution, but a steady clearing that deepens with repetition.

    Simple Working

Apply Ninefold Wash oil to the wrists or back of the neck.

Light the candle and allow the flame to settle before focusing your attention.

Do not fixate on what must be removed. Instead, hold awareness on what is already loosening and beginning to move.

Extinguish the candle when your focus fades. Return to it as needed until the work feels complete.

    Working Method

This candle is meant to be worked in focused sessions, not burned passively. We recommend working in intervals of 8–10 minutes at a time, giving the flame your full attention.

Light the candle when your focus is steady, and extinguish it when that focus ends. The work builds through repetition, not duration.

    Ritual Safety & Working Guidance

Always burn this candle on a stable, heat-safe surface. Keep it away from drafts, pets, and children. Never leave a burning candle unattended. And be sure to remove any large herbs or resins on top of the candle, or anything near the wick that could interrupt the flame.

This candle is not meant to burn continuously or without focus. We recommend working the candle in short, intentional sessions of approximately 8–10 minutes at a time. Sit with the flame, hold your focus, and extinguish it when that focus begins to fade.

Do not light this candle and walk away or allow it to burn unattended for long periods. The work is done with the flame, not around it.

The candle does not need to burn completely for the work to begin. The process starts the moment you decide to bring it into your life, and it strengthens each time you return to it with clear intention.

When the candle has finished its work, you may keep a small piece of the remaining wax as a physical reminder of what you have set in motion, though this is not required.

For disposal, gather the remaining wax and place it in a small bag or wrapping. Dispose of it at a location aligned with movement and activity—such as a busy gas station or truck stop. These serve as modern crossroads, allowing the work to carry forward without harm or disruption.

Think of it like this: The old crossroads were places of movement, exchange, decision, and wandering spirits. Modern life changed the roads, not the current beneath them. Today, busy truck stops, gas stations, and all-night convenience stores carry that same restless motion. When disposing of ritual remains, leave nothing harmful behind. Wrap your remains respectfully and place them in the trash. The work leaves with the movement of the road — not as litter in the land.

For specific types of work, you may choose disposal locations that reflect the intention:
financial work → near a bank
chance or risk-based work → near a casino
fast-moving situations → near an airport

knowledge work, uncovering things → library

This replaces older practices of leaving materials at literal crossroads. Work cleanly, responsibly, and with awareness. The work continues through what you choose to do with it.

    Final Note from Inexplicable Things

There is no single correct way to work with ritual tools. If this candle calls to you, trust the instinct that led you here. The work begins there . . . with you.

This flame is a tool, not a replacement for your will. It does not need to burn completely to be effective. In fact, working the candle in focused sessions over time allows you to build and direct energy with intention.

Each time you return to the flame, you reinforce what you seek. That consistency, that presence—this is what is seen, and what carries the work forward.
