Cypress roots hold their ground beneath dark water. Spanish moss hangs like a curtain between what can be seen and what would rather remain hidden. Roots tangle beneath your feet. Mud remembers every damn thing that stepped in it.

And through flood, drought, storm, heat, death, rot and rebirth, the swamp remains.

That is the spirit behind Swamp Guardian.

Each Swamp Guardian Gris Gris is individually built and worked by Mama Sha' at Inexplicable Things Apothecary along the waters of Caddo Lake in Louisiana. This isn't a little bag of herbs assembled from a correspondence chart. Every component has a job.

Cypress brings endurance, protection and the ability to hold your ground when the waters rise.

Spanish moss helps veil and obscure, creating another layer between you and unwanted attention.

Devil's shoestring works to trip up trouble and interfere with what comes against you.

Black pepper gives the working teeth and helps drive unwanted influence back.

Black salt establishes boundary while helping collect what doesn't belong within it.

Iron provides hard, grounded protection and reinforces the line being held.

Local earth anchors the gris gris to the land from which the working comes.

A touch of resin helps strengthen and bind the work together.

What Swamp Guardian Is For

Swamp Guardian is intended for protection, warding and the establishment of strong spiritual boundaries.

Carry it with you for personal protection, keep it near the entrance of your home, place it in your vehicle, take it while traveling, or keep it near your workspace.

It can be especially useful during periods when you feel exposed, surrounded by conflict, receiving unwanted attention, moving through spiritually heavy environments, or simply want another layer standing between your business and everybody else's.

Swamp Guardian is not a cleansing working. If something unwanted has already crossed the line, cleanse first.

Then put the Guardian at the damn gate.

Feeding Your Swamp Guardian

Your Swamp Guardian arrives worked and ready to stand its post. You only have to do one or two simple things to activate it to work for you.

You will need to feed it and reinforce the relationship you've established with it.

Swamp Guardian Oil is made specifically for this gris gris and is the same oil used by Mama Sha' while preparing the original working.

Place a single drop of oil into your palms and rub them together. Clap your hands together once or twice and feel them heat up. Then hold your gris gris in your hands and bringing its job back clearly into your mind. Please do not drown the poor bastard. Literally, one or two drops in your palm, is plenty! The more you hold your gris gris and push energy into it, the more effective it will become working for you.

Feed it when the working feels as though it needs attention, after a particularly difficult encounter or period of heavy spiritual traffic, or as part of your regular protection maintenance.

This isn't about constantly "recharging" something that has somehow gone dead. You're tending a working relationship. A little attention goes a long way.
