15 Songs Written by The Blue Witch

The Black Crow Album is a collection of fifteen original songs written over the course of several months by The Blue Witch. Rooted deeply in Appalachian culture, folklore, witchcraft, and storytelling, this album blends haunting lyrics, mountain wisdom, dark humor, old superstitions, and a touch of conjure into a musical journey unlike anything else.

Every song on this album was written by The Blue Witch and features two distinct vocal performers designed by Blue herself.

The first voice is Blue, a female vocalist modeled after Blue's own singing voice. Before becoming known to thousands as The Blue Witch, Blue spent years singing and writing music. While she ultimately chose family life over pursuing music professionally, her love of songwriting never disappeared. Without access to the recording equipment she once used, Blue created this voice as a way to finally share the songs that had been living in her notebooks for years. The songs are intentionally written and arranged within her own vocal ability so that, should she ever return to recording one day, these songs remain authentically hers.

The second voice is Cypress, a male vocalist also designed by Blue. Followers often jokingly refer to Cypress as Blue's "altar ego." Carrying the same Appalachian roots and storytelling spirit, Cypress brings a rougher masculine energy to the collection while remaining firmly connected to the mountain traditions that inspired the music.

Five songs on the album feature Blue and Cypress together in duet performances. These tracks have been lovingly nicknamed The Holler Witches by followers, blending feminine and masculine voices into stories of folk magic, mountain lore, and life in the hollers.

Beyond the lyrics and vocal design, Blue also creates the musical foundations behind these songs. The result is a sound that leans heavily into Appalachian country while occasionally wandering into darker folk, southern gothic, and even grunge-inspired territory. Growing up and continuing to live in Appalachia has shaped both Blue's writing style and musical influences, which shine through especially in songs like Don't Whistle At Night and Moonshine and Moon Signs.

This album represents months of work, creativity, and heart. It is a love letter to Appalachian storytelling, witchcraft, folklore, and the people who feel called to the old ways. Whether you're here for the mountain magic, the eerie tales, the witchy themes, or simply the music itself, The Black Crow Album was created to send a chill down your spine and leave you wanting one more song.
